Today is Sam's birthday. He's officially a teenager. I'm feeling a little old today once again. My babies aren't babies anymore and that hurts my heart. I still feel like a mama chick gathering her babies.

Sam was born on the 14th of Jan in Mesa AZ @ 12:57 PM weighing 7 lbs. 6oz. 20 in. long. He had a head of black hair and was perfect. His big brother Mitch was beyond excited.

Sam loves ANYTHING to do with the outdoors. Hunting,camping,hiking,sports,snowboarding,scouting etc....

* He a GREAT friend

* Loves history...like his momma.

* He cares deeply for others and their feelings.

Well it's that time of year again. SNOW and COLD! After 3 1/2 years living here I'm still not used to it. It's fun for the Holidays and then come January it just needs to leave. You take the good with the bad. A friend told me "EMBRACE IT" and I WILL. The view from our front door

Of course I loaded these backwards,but oh well you'll get it. Our summer is officially over. It was one filled with Zoo trips with friends,Water parks, park days...etc. Fall is officially here, however it is actually snowing today. I will post more pictures of our pumpkin patch adventure,a visit from old friends,and Halloween, Sam's football luau and so on.

FIRST on my list is a fun filled day with Harrison's kindergarten class to the farm. Let me tell you the highlight for all those cute kiddos was the bus ride. They LOVED it.

Today is my 1st baby is 15 years old. He was born at 3:20 in the afternoon and weighed a whooping 7lbs 15oz. My scanner is packed or I would scan pictures. He's wonderful at any sport he does,he's a wonderful friend,cousin,brother and son. We love you Mitch. You are such a blessing to our family. HUGS!

Ok I'll think we'll start with one of the cutest peeps from this trip Mr. Gairson . I think I seriously could have dipped him in sugar and nibbled FOREVER on him. SO CUTE!

Our good friends the Hicks invited us up to Missoula for the 4th which also just happens to be Peters b-day and NOT only that it was his BIG 40. Rob just happened to have a change in his work and we left Saturday and returned LATE LATE Tuesday. It was gorgeous up there. Rob had never been there and fell in love immediately. Enjoy the pictures of our trip.

Our BFF'S The Hicks came to visit a couple of weeks ago and we went to dinner at our FAV Mexican Restaurant (well in Utah). We miss them SO much,but glad they are in our neck of the woods again (Montana). Look at that baby! Seriously I just nibbled on him. SO CUTE. Love you guys!

It's Winter yet again in the great state of Xanadu. It's this time of year I yearn for sunshine,warmth,citrus,orange blossoms.....you get it. I can't seem to pull myself up and get on with it. Really it shouldn't be that hard......Right?

We had a wonderful holiday season filled with family,friends and no school. I did miss my sister Ginger and her cute family horribly. I've been thinking a lot about family and the threads that bind us. There's nothing better than to know if you don't have ANYTHING else in your life you ALWAYS have your family.

Now it's time to switch out the laundry,clean a few bathrooms and rejoice that I have the health,water,cleaners etc to do so. A maid sounds wonderful. My oldest son said " Mom why would you want a maid you do such a great job on your own".....thanks Mitch. Sigh......he means well.

It's this gorgeous lady's b-day.
Aubry Lin was born Dec.3rd at McKay Dee Hospital. When this girl was born seriously the nurses could NOT believe how much hair the she had. They asked my Mom if she wanted a bow or pig tails. She had beautiful olive skin that was flawless and chubby cherub cheeks and dark brown eyes. She's a wonderful sister,daughter,Aunt,Wife and the last ,but not least she's an amazing Mommy to Miss Millie Moo.

Land of the Free

Today I'm thankful for ALL of our Soldiers past,present, and future so we can live in free Country. I love hearing the jet's fly over our home and watching them train. To me it is the sound of FREEDOM. We are very lucky.

Sam asked the other day if "I would be sad if he joined the Marines" . I quickly responded with "I would be honored and proud to have a son Serve our Country" does it make me nervous in a time of war? Absolutely,but proud he would want to serve his fellow man. Plus there's nothing better than a handsome man in uniform. He He.....

Halloween at our House

This year was a little different than other years only because of my wonderful tonsillectomy (which by the way FINALLY I'm feeling like myself ). Oh and my pictures load BACK WARDS dang it,but you'll get the picture.

My Harrison was a Star wars guy and Jake was a goblin. Ok heres the deal. I love the fall and the Harvest but when it comes to Halloween I don't get into it to much. I love carving pumpkins and eating yummy soups,making sugar cookies and giving them to friends etc...
We had friends over to go to our trunk-r-treat and then go around the neighborhood. The kiddos in front of the house. I just had rip up ALL my flowers for winter. Sniff,Sniff..

Now that I'm feeling better maybe I'll keep up more. I tell you that was a ROUGH 2 1/2 weeks. Ewww....Now on to Thanksgiving. My Grandparents are flying in from Illinois and we can't wait. We're going to do the Polar Express on the Heber Creeper Railroad and just enjoy our family. LOTS to be thankful for this year.

Okay,Can I PLEASE be done? Really if your kiddos need tonsils out or the Doc has mentioned it....GET THEM DONE NOW. Don't have them wait until they are older. IT IS AWFUL!!!

The first couple days were alright. It was manageable. I thought "good deal I'm HOME free". Man was I WRONG. I had a abscess that was large and they had to dig and really it was NOT fun when I woke up. I felt like my ears were on fire.
I'm going on day 7 . Over the weekend my throat was so swollen. It felt like I was gargling glass shards and since everything like your ears,face...etc is connected it felt like my ears were going to EXPLODE. I would gladly go back and labor ALL of my children over again. I really would.

Well the doctor (BLESS that wonderful man) put me on a steroid for the swelling. I'm SO SO grateful for modern medicine. My throat is still VERY sore and swollen ,but NOT near as bad as it was. Thank heavens for doctors,medicine,and Popsicles.

I'll have to post in a few days and give a update. That's all the whining I have energy for right now,plus my meds are kicking in and I might start typing old family secrets or something. You never know.

Fall

It's that time of year again. When the green turns to vibrant orange,red,yellow,and gold. The mountains are splashed with all the different colors. This week it turned cold and now the mountains are tipped with snow. I have mixed feelings. Part of me REALLY wants it to be summer still. To be able to camp,play night games with the kiddos,sit on the front porch and watch the sun go down,go for snow cones on a warm night,have picnic's in the park .
The other part of me LOVES the fall. I love the harvest,pumpkin patches,apple cider,falling leaves,the morning chill that bite's at your face when you walk out the door,hot homemade soup with rolls,hot cocoa by the fire.
Living in Utah and being from the Midwest you would think I was used to WINTER. NOPE I'm not. I do like it through the holidays and then it can leave right out the door with the last of the company you might have. By the time January gets here I'm done. It's gray,wet,cold,,slushy,did I mention gray ....you get it. That's when I get homesick for Mesa. Sitting at the park watching the kiddos play,fresh lemons,oranges,grapefruit,warm sun, green grass. You get the picture. It's funny because NEVER in a million years would I have thought I could live without the 4 seasons. Living in Mesa at first was hard then you move away and you miss the warm sunshine that shines 362 days out of the year. Come summer of next year when it's 76-80 here and 108 in Mesa and everyone down there has their air conditioning on already and we have our windows and doors open I'll have a different post to write,but right now I'm starting to DREAD the 6am shoveling of the drive way so we can get out for work and school. SIGH....
I think I'll just enjoy the splash of color while it lasts and be grateful for eyes that can see the changing of season's. That's a start. Right?

My Papa

This is my Grandfather Cornell J. Kane. I have two of my children named after him and his father which is James Cornell Kane. Today is his Birthday. I'm proud of my heritage and my Irish roots. I always did like the color green.
I wish we were there to celebrate with him and my Nana. Sit in their back yard after dinner and watch the bunnies and the squirrels gather their babies for bed and listen to the locusts. I have such wonderful memories of the great town of Jacksonville Illinois. It's one of my most favorite places ever. It reminds me of the movie Pollyanna. I just returned from there 3 weeks ago and will post pictures of my visit soon. My Nana and Papa have always been a rock in my life and in my children's life. In my book they WILL live forever. Have a great day Papa. My boys thought I had lost it when I had them sing Happy Birthday at 7 AM in the speaker phone. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

This is my grand finale child. Harrison is ONE OF A KIND I tell you. He always is walking around with a smile and humming a little tune. Then on the flip side he's a BRUT with his brothers he puts up with NOTHING. I guess that's what happens when you're the last of 5 boys. In fact as I sit here typing he came up and said " Let's remove your brain for observation" HA HA HA...little does he know I swear I left part of it on the delivery table when I had him. He's such a joy.
I just caught him shooting buttons out his window on the 3rd floor with a sling shot. When I asked him "what in the world was he doing" he managed to say " Mom would you be quiet I'm trying save our house from the evil raccoons now leave me alone" I was left there with my mouth WIDE open and all I could do was BUST out laughing. I do get to go to Lowe's and get a new screen in which he SHOT threw.....At least we'll sleep well tonight knowing SLING SHOT HARRY saved the day. Oh yes and if you EVER call him HARRY he will quickly correct you.

My baby Harrison. It's VERY different having all 5 in school. I had a hard time the first week and now I'm over it.
Right before going in he said"Mom I'm scared hide me" He was such a trooper.
All my men. I love them all SO much.

Last but not least poor Sam broke his leg down into his ankle. He gets to sport this dude for about 3 weeks. Oh and P.S. he has 5 toes and not 4 the fifth is hidden. Someone pointed that out. HA!
I had a really hard week sending them all to school. I've ALWAYS have had someone home for 14 years and I think it's just another reminder we don't have them home very long and my time with them is growing shorter. I love being a Mom to boys. I'm glad I get to stay home with them and hear of their adventures in school when they jump in the car. They keep me hopping that's for sure. They love their teachers and have made or found old and new friends. Harrison is just eating it up. My hope is that we keep the learning fire lit under them threw collage. No pressure....Right.

Summer

I'm a HUGE slacker. We've had a busy summer. Baseball has ended. YAY! Our lives are back....or so I thought. Fireworks with Uncle Landon up at G-pa's is the best because Landon goes to Wyoming to get some good ones.
Forth of July started of with the annual 4th of July parade in Kaysville. Always a great time.
Then a BBQ and Fireworks later at G-pa's. Love it!

Mr. Harrison LOVED t-ball. He thinks he's going pro. Shoot for the stars babe. He's so cute.

It's that time again. Pick your sport. Having all boys we are always on the move with some type of sporting event. Mitch and Harrison are in baseball. Mitchell's team has gone on to the championships. His first championship game is tonight. When they were handing out the jersey's for the team we all stared laughing because they are the DIAMONDBACKS. WEIRD!! He really wanted to be a Cardinal because we are die hard St Louis Cards fans,but Diamondbacks are a close second. I'll post more pictures later of Mr. Harrison and his t-ball fun. Logan and Jake are doing gymnastics and are LOVING it. Football season is right around the corner......

I was able to be in the room for the birth. It's the most amazing process to watch a life be brought into this world. I remember when Aub was born and going to see her. She was beautiful. She had thick black hair and I mean THICK. The nurses asked if my mom wanted her hair in a bow or pig tails. To watch the youngest child in our family give birth to her first born in the same hospital she was born in was awesome. I had to stand back and take it all in for a moment. It was emotional. I'm so glad Millie is here and mom and babe are doing great. Aubry and Landon THANK YOU so, so much for letting me be apart of your special day. She's very lucky have such great parents. Love you.

A trip and a Birthday - Part 1

We went to Mesa for our Spring Break and deliver my sister and her family their little puppy for Easter. We visited with dear friends,family and ate at all the yummy places we don't have in the land of UTAH enjoyed the warm rays and came home nice and crispy. It was wonderful.
What would we do without Pete's? Messy fish please. YUM.

About a week a ago I flew to Mesa for my sisters b-day. I had such a great time seeing my family ,friends and of course what's Mesa without a Dizzy sighting. HA!
Master Peyton my friend Katie's little man making himself a delicious PB&J sammy. He's the cutest little booger.
Little miss nanny. We went to lunch with my good friend Dixie at Sweet Cakes. YUMMO food.
I went and saw one of my dearest childhood friends Heather Hall Shill and their newly adopted little guys. They've waited SO long for kids and it was wonderful to see her and Chris as parents.
Chillin in the hammock. I left 19 degree weather to paradise 75-80's....AHHHHH Look at my little tuck and nanny.
These posted backwards. Anyway we flew over the Grand Canyon. My boys thought this was cool.

This is what I came home to. It snowed for 3 days after I got home.
I loved seeing those of you I was able to see. I miss everyone SO much it felt like home. We'll be back the week of April 13-18. Goo-goo it was fun to be with you and your great family. I love you guys. See you soon!

One Month I don't care to Repeat..

Our month (Feb) started with Rob having his tonsils out. NO BIG DEAL! You deal with it. Right? He woke upon the 5th day and was complaining of pain in his chest area and looked ashy . Well for those of you who don't know the Jackson's health history here's a little picture....his sister passed away at 29 from a blood clot ,she was sweeping her floor,his dad and dads whole side has a HUGE history of heart disease and blood clots,his brother has had them twice....etc you get the picture. Well our time came. We ran to the doctor/hospital and the EKG showed he had either just had or was having a miner heart attack...WHAT!!!. He got to spend 2 days on the heart unit of the hospital having every needle possible jabbed in him, PLUS recovering from his wonderful tonsillectomy.

Everything came out alright. He's doing a TON better. I've never felt so helpless in my life. I came home that night and put my kiddos to bed,walked into our bedroom with the little cheap hospital bag with his belongings and wept. It was the worst feeling in the world. I'm SO grateful for my Father in Heaven. All I could do is hit my knees and beg Him not to take him from our family,not yet at least. I was comforted by His love and knew everything would be ok.

Rob is down by 25 pounds . It was our little wake up of life. Don't take it for granted. Hug, love and be with the ones you love.

Tonsils and Puppy's

Poor Rob. He had his tonsils out yesterday. Everything went well and we hope for a good recovery.
Hollie and her 5 little pups. She did so well. It's our first experience with puppy's. I'm thinking it's our last. It's very messy and gross. Not for the weak stomach people. So in 6 weeks we have pure breed dachshunds for sale.

I think we need to charge rent...

Our Holiday Season started off with our GOOD friends Pete and Debi coming to visit. He just graduated and has become a Doctor.They lived in New York and we missed them horribly. This Thanksgiving we have MANY things to be grateful for. It was good to have Rob's brother and his family here along with his sister and her family. We had a great time. There was about 20 of us in our home. Our little 6 week old nephew Maddax went to the ER Thursday afternoon for throwing up and I mean he could soak ya in 10 sec or less. Poor guy. They ended up admitting him to do test's . The mussel between the stomach and the small intestine had closed off (they have a med term for it). He was then ambulanced Friday to Primary Children's and Sat. underwent surgery to correct the problem. He was released yesterday and is healing well.

I didn't get any pictures of dinner. I'm very bummed. It was a great weekend guys.

Gratitude

I've had many things on my mind and just pondering certain things in our life.

First - I was given a calling as to be a Relief Society Instructor. Which at first I almost peed in the chair and then happily accepted. NOW here's my problem, I feel SO inadequate to be teaching, but I'm also am SUPER excited. To be better reading the weekly lessons and just diving right in.

Second - We got a call on Friday to have our WHOLE family speak in Sacrament next Sunday. AHHHHHHH!!! Are you kidding me!!! However the topic is Gratitude. I thought no problem that's a very easy subject. THEN I start really thinking about the word "Gratitude" and it's amazing how I immediately am brought to tears over the word.
My first thought was I have SO much Gratitude for my Savior Jesus Christ and the sacrifice he made not just for me.....But you, you and yes even you. I could sit FOREVER and write about all sorts of things, but this is what came to my mind at that very second. Ok, I know some of you are like WHAT'S the problem. I have a MAJOR thing about getting up in front of people. Deep down I'm VERY shy.

Isn't he SO stinking cute? It was SO much fun having a little baby in the house again. I'm in mourning they left Saturday morning. Harrison lost a 24/7 buddy (Linden) and we lost this snuggle baby. Amber caught him sucking his thumb so we captured the moment. We miss you guys . We can't wait to see all of you at Thanksgiving. Amber thanks for putting up with us for two whole weeks. Alright I'm totally late with these pics. We had a pretty low key Halloween. Ben was able to get away from work to visit his little family. We did our Wards Trunker-Treat it was fun. Then Rob and Ben took some of the kiddos around the neighborhood for some more goodies (as if they already didn't have enough)

Crazy Busy!

It's been SO busy ...a good busy, but busy.

Last week we took the kids out to a pumpkin patch and hayride to get pumpkins. We had a blast and they got to get what ever one their little heart desired.

Second Mitch has made the Jr. High basketball team . He loves it and does very well. We're very proud of him and his dedication.

Third we have a new addition to the Jackson side of the family. Robert's brother Ben and his wife had their second son last week. Amber had to have a emergency c-section after his cord became clamped and his heart rate dropped. Amber,Linden,and baby Maddax are recouping at our home for a couple of weeks . Ben is away working. It's been SO neat to have a baby in the house again. Maddax is such a good baby. He's only 5 lbs 3oz.and is such a little peanut. My little boys asked if we could go and buy one of those. Ha Ha! If it were only that easy.

Yup ! I've been a TOTAL slacker on the blog.
Our kiddos stared school on the 25th of August. I now have a 7th,5th,3rd,and 1st graders. I'm feeling REALLY old with having a Jr. High student,but all we've had is how much they all love their new school.
We got them into a Preparatory school in the town we live in and have really been impressed. The Jr. High still has all the sports,clubs and fun stuff that the other Jr.highs have and the Elementary is wonderful as well.

Mr. Harrison starts his pre-school next week . Then I will have ALL 5 boys in school for 3 days a week for 3 hours. I have very mixed feeling about this. I'm not sure what I'll do so I'm open for suggestions.

Some friends of ours were in a private airplane crash on Saturday night.
Christian and Stephanie Nielsen of our old Lazona ward in Mesa AZ .Their injuries are life threating.
Christian has broken his back and is burned over 20% of his body and Stephanie his sweet wife is a little more serious she is burned 70-80% of her body. I know the Lord's mindful of this sweet,sweet family. I read her blog and if you go here you can see this amazing family of 6. Also if you could please pray for the flight instructors family he passed away last night from his injuries.
I feel so blessed to know that thru the love of our Father in Heaven we can be comforted. I know what a special gift we have all been given by our Saviors atoning sacrifice.

Well we stared football season everything was GREAT Sam got the coaches he wanted and the FIRST day of pads(they have conditioning and then the draft) he tackles a kid and went to get up and the kid from the other side landed on his arm making it go the other way and ....A trip to the ER + x-rays = a torn ligament in his arm and elbow. Which means a sling and NOT moving it for a month means NO MORE FOOTBALL SEASON. He's actually quiet sad . It was going to be a good season. Well there's next year.....RIGHT?

Yup I'm a TWILIGHT nerd. Myself,Emily and her sister Missy all went to the twilight party at Barnes and Noble. It was TONS of fun . It diffidently brought out some interesting people.

I think we've created a MONSTER. Our garden has taken over. Our corn is totally loaded and our green beans I've already have had to pick them two or three tomes and our tomatoes are 5ft 51/2 in tall. Yup that's taller than me and are hanging because there's SO many tomatoes. YEAH! I can't wait to can salsa and tomatoes. The bushes at the very bottom of the picture are red potatoes and we dug a piece of them up and there were softball size taters. Our pepper plants are doing well we have Anaheim chili's and green peppers I've already had to pick those a few times as well. The squash is at the very back and has gone WILD. I most diffidently will be giving some away. It's been fun to do this with kids they love going out to see what's bloomed that day.

Well it's official...sniff,sniff. We are parent's of a TEENAGER! That's right Mitchell will turn the BIG 13 tomorrow. He gets to celebrate his day by driving up in to Idaho for Scout Camp for a week. We had his b-day dinner(his choice since he was 4 is Idaho Falls Chicken Enchiladas..thank you Craig and Janelle for a great recipe) tonight and went out on Friday to a Pizzeria opened up by two missionaries who served their mission in Italy. They have EVERYTHING shipped in from Italy and is one of the BEST things I've ever eaten . It makes Rob homesick for his mission. Even the kids are like "We need to move this is SO yummy" anyway if you're ever in the SLC area it's called Settebello. YUMMO! After we went to the Apple store for his gift and I think his face says it all.

This past Friday July 11th my baby sister married Mr. Green. We're SO excited for her. She married into a great family they're very sweet people. During the day I felt run down and tried half way through I was down right SICK. I had a ear infection and sinus infection and the ear drum was getting ready to burst. I was SO dang mad. My sister Ginger and Landon's sweet mom and sisters covered the rest of the night. THANK YOU GIRLS! Antibiotics are heaven sent and I'm back to normal...well as normal as I get..He,He. I'll have to wait for the photos from the photographer to post those ,but here's the random shots we did get. She was SO gorgeous and just BEAMED . We love you guys. Have fun on your honeymoon.

A Wedding

This past Saturday we had the opportunity to attend our nieces(Rob's sisters daughter) wedding up in Logan. It was a BEAUTIFUL day and they looked SO happy. AWWW..to be young again and newly married..HMMMM.

Well Friday was our kiddos last day of school . Jake's teacher and Logan's teacher were WONDERFUL we'll miss them. Sam's and Mitchell's teacher's well they did there job,but we weren't impressed. Everyone is excited to start a new year with new teachers and new fun things to do. Mitch will be going to Jr.High,I know it's very weird I'm feeling like I'm officially old,Sam is going into 5th,Logan into 3rd. and Jake is going into 1st. While the littlest guy will be going into preschool 3 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs. For the first time EVER I'll have a empty house 3 of the 5 days for 2 1/2 hours . I'm not sure what I'll do with my self.....hmmm I may shave my WHOLE leg and not just up to my knees. HA HA HA !

Lincoln Olympics

The kid's school every year does the "Olympics" and sense last year we hadn't moved in yet we didn't know how HUGE this was. All the kids from all the grades(except kindergarten) march (at the high school) in with flags to the Olympic song (which they had on huge speakers at the high school) and do different games. It was really cool and they had a blast.

These pictures were taken about 4 weeks ago and everything has grown a lot more. We're SO excited to garden up here. I've already been able to pick lettuce and make salads. YUM. The big set of bushes are raspberries and their LOADED. YUM !!

This is a little part of our peach tree the tree it self is huge and the tree is full of YUMMY PEACHES. We can't wait.

We have 11 tomato plants and there a lot bigger and some have blooms. We also have cucumbers,onions,3 different kinds of squash a apple tree and pear tree that both have fruit on them. It's been really neat to watch everything go from bare tree and ground to full blooms and now the blooms are fruit. The boys LOVE the garden and enjoy going and working in it. I'm excited to do canning this summer and enjoy the goods this winter. YAY !!!

The hike that told me how out of shape I really am...

Oh yes... Saturday we went down to Alpine (down by Provo) and took the kids to Mt. Timpanogos Cave. We've never been there before and thought it would be fun and educational for the boys. So we get there and buy the tickets and the ranger manages to pull out a map and shows us the "hike" we need to take to get to the caves . Well, we think NO big deal it's all good. WRONG ! Little did we know its a 3 1/2 hr. round trip hike and you climb pretty much STRAIGHT up the mountain, well to be precisely correct we climbed 1,070 feet and 1 1/2 miles up,1 mile through the caves and 1 1/2 mile back down (JoDee I think that covers this whole next weeks work outs,because I CAN'T move). It was a GORGEOUS hike the boys did wonderful and you think you're alright on the "being in shape"thing and I was WAY wrong. I wanted to DIE !!! Well at least going up coming down was a piece of cake. Anyway here's some pics and they downloaded in the wrong order ,but you'll get the idea.

Thanksgiving Point

My kids are out of school for the next two weeks (we have year round school) and we're out enjoying the beautiful weather. We decided to go check out a place called Thanksgiving Point and we LOVED it. They have gorgeous gardens and lots of stuff for the kids to do plus lots of really cute shops.

Mitch stuck his fingers in the corral and the hourse totally started making noise and trying to lick him. It was SO funny.

While I was visiting my other set of Grandparents we had the opportunity to visit with the Amish. My G-ma has lived there, well as long as I can remember ,anyway the Amish the last few years have moved in and have built stores,beautiful homes,barns furniture store etc.

It's so beautiful to see how they live and out of respect I didn't take any pictures of them. I assume this is how the pioneers lived. It's amazing to watch them make the furniture and cut the wood and the end result is GORGEOUS. We went to their bakery and let's just say I'm glad I don't live near them because it's NOT weight watchers friendly all I can say YUMMY YUMMY . Their VERY friendly and their life is SO simple.

The kids go to school until the 8th grade and then they are put to work ( homes,crops etc..) I loved spending time with them and Harrison played with little guys and they loved every minute of it. They're wonderful people.

Yesterday was Logan's Baptism and he was SO excited . He turned 8 on March 16th and yes I'm a bad mom I didn't post his b-day shout. It's weird I feel as though I'm getting old and my babies will be leaving my nest down the road ( Mitch will be leaving on his mission 6 yrs. time will fly). I'm done with the baby stage of parenting and our youngest will be 4 in a few weeks. It's weird for me but exciting to be on the other side of the fence.
Logan is our 3rd and he's our happy go lucky kid. He's always smiley and happy and loves the world and everything in it. I'm SO grateful for my boys. They teach me SO much.

This year Easter was at our home with my side. It was bitter sweet because after dinner my sister and her hubby and two darling kiddos were moving back to Mesa. We had lots of fun , it was weird because we always had the tradition of going to the Easter Pageant in Mesa . We missed it horribly this year. When we went to Cali it's just not a complete trip unless you go spend a day at the beach. We decided to go to Balboa island it was warm and clean and just relaxing and fun.

So here is day 3 and 4. We had five day hopper passes and loved every minute of it.

Alright ,we've been back since Saturday and I'm a HUGE slacker. We had a GREAT time and the weather was amazing (we left snow ) in the mid to high 70's the whole time. LOVE IT !!! The First two days were great and I'll post more tommorow night.

Today Sam had to go have minor surgery done on his two big toes. They were SO infected and he had managed to hide them from his dad and I for quiet some time. I'm NOT going to go into detail of what they did although at some point I had to sit down . I DON'T even have a weak stomach. Poor kid it was less than fun and it's painful .
He did GREAT !

Today is SAM the Man's Birthday. I can't believe he's already 10. It seems like it was just yesterday he was a tiny baby with lots of black hair. Here's some things we love about Sam.
1. He LOVES to take things apart and then fix it
2. He thinks things through and then decides
3. He's VERY thoughtful of others(gifts,doing service etc..)
4. LOVES to be outdoors (camping,fishing,playing etc..)
5. Loves to play games

I think I'm done

Yup, I think I'm officially done with the SNOW. We woke this morning to 6 to 7 inches and it's STILL going. It was fun for the Christmas and all ,but really this is too much. Logan asked the other day " Mom when is the sun going to shine so we can be warm". Can you tell we're AZ folk. The good side of this is it will make the spring and summer beautiful and green and the drought wont be as bad. We LOVE shoveling at 6:00 a.m. oh well I got my workout in this morning :) .

New Years day we all got together and went sledding and had a BLAST. The little kids had fun seeing who could go the farthest and of course the adults had to see who went the fastest.
After we warmed up with YUMMY hot cocoa.
Oh and it might be sunny and clear skies but the temp when we got there was 15 degrees . FREEZING ! Hence the hot cocoa drinking and LOTS of it.

We had a good Christmas. I'm SO glad it's over and we're ready to start the New Year. All the boys had a fun day playing with their new items. Mitch and Sam got airsoft guns and all the equipment that goes wit this and the little boys got leapsters . Everyone got snow clothes and cars,lift ticket money and and and and....It was a GOOD day.

I love the Christmas season. The baking ,party's,all the kids talking how Christmas morning is going to be the best ever and the importance of the birth of Christ...etc. My family was VERY traditional with the holidays and I want to pass that on to my kids and the importance of it. I love to do the cards and take the goodies to the neighbors ,go see the Temple lights, read fun Christmas stories to the kids and watch their faces in amazement . LOVE it ALL !!!

AHHH yes this is why we moved from perfect AZ weather (in the winter) to this. I DON'T THINK SO ! This is going to be something I have get used to again (I guess like the AZ heat ) You take the good with bad . My kids are in heaven and think this is wonderful outside weather. I took this pic about 8:30 this morning and it's still coming down. YEAH !!!

Temple Square Chritmas Lights

Last night we took the kids to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square and as always they were amazing . The only draw back was it was FREEZING. The boys had a great time and enjoyed all the different nativities from around the world . Temple Square is magical during the holiday season.

Today was Jakes Thanksgiving program for his kindergarten class. He's my fourth of all boys and it is always such a joy and watch your kids succeed in things they enjoy. He was SO cute. They grow up too fast.
P.S. I get to the school and realized my battery was TOTALLY dead. This is a pic from last year . He had on the same attire .

Yesterday I was putting my laundry away and doing small things around the house and this is what I find. AHHHHHHHHH! I go to get in the car and there's a puddle on the garage floor and THEN I open the door to the car and I almost LOST it.
1. Our Suburban is new we've had it 8mos.
2. Our house is new(well new to us ,but it's only 5years old) and the carpet and hardwood is less than year old.
3. I have NO freaking idea how to get food coloring out of fabric.
Our boys have been very good with the car I don't allow food or drink in it . The the house they have been VERY good on being respectful because I'm pretty nuts about my house. So if anyone has any FAB ideas I would LOVE to hear them.

We went to my mom and sisters ward trunk-r-treat
last night. I do have to say I miss Lazona and 61 wards trunk-r-treat they were WAY more fun. Aunt Aubry was the baseball player,grandma was in scare mode. the boys had a lot of fun going with their cousins. After the party we went to Gingers and ate soup and let the kids go around the neighborhood.

We had everyone over for FHE and dessert on Monday . We carved pumpkins and ate Taffy Apple Pizza (very sinful).

Alright, it's been a little while sense I've posted and remembered to get the pics off my camera . Anyway ,Mitchell had his team party a couple of weeks ago . They did SO awesome this season and he had a GREAT time just having fun the guys. Him and Sam are already talking about next year. AHHH, I'm SO glad it's done for now.
