Gratitude
I've had many things on my mind and just pondering certain things in our life.
First - I was given a calling as to be a Relief Society Instructor. Which at first I almost peed in the chair and then happily accepted. NOW here's my problem, I feel SO inadequate to be teaching, but I'm also am SUPER excited. To be better reading the weekly lessons and just diving right in.
Second - We got a call on Friday to have our WHOLE family speak in Sacrament next Sunday. AHHHHHHH!!! Are you kidding me!!! However the topic is Gratitude. I thought no problem that's a very easy subject. THEN I start really thinking about the word "Gratitude" and it's amazing how I immediately am brought to tears over the word.
My first thought was I have SO much Gratitude for my Savior Jesus Christ and the sacrifice he made not just for me.....But you, you and yes even you. I could sit FOREVER and write about all sorts of things, but this is what came to my mind at that very second. Ok, I know some of you are like WHAT'S the problem. I have a MAJOR thing about getting up in front of people. Deep down I'm VERY shy.

wow. that's a calling i would call scary! i bet you will be awesome at it though! and i'm sure it will be a wonderful time to grow. i can't believe they asked your whole family to speak! good luck! wish we could be there to see you guys. miss you!
Hey Amy
Being a teacher is the best calling in the church. It gives you an opportunity to learn so much and you get to create a spirit in Relief Society. I love having that calling, its my favorite one. Best of luck on the speaking in church, it can be scary!
Amy?! You are shy?? I didn't know that! I've been a RS teacher, and I loved it. You have such a great diverse background. You have insights that some LDS women have never seen. (And you are so darn cute to look at!!!!) You'll be the best teacher! Hey, your family will do such a great job! Are you going to have your little boys write something for their talks? Yesterday I had Eli (10) write about gratitude. His list consisted of cheese, rootbeer, pizza, and something else food related. We all grow in our gratitude, it'd be cute to see how a family is grateful for different things at different times in their lives.
I'm excited for you, Amy. You'll do great. Let us know how the Sacrament meeting talks go.
That is definetly a pee in your pants calling. Anytime I have to teach my peers, ugh! I feel the same way as you do. I feel so inadequate as a teacher. I am sure you will be fine and the fact that you are so worried about it will make you that much better of one.
Good luck on the talks. Another one of those things on my not-so- wonderful-things-to-do list.
-i love the picture you chose when you talked about gratitude. you are going to be an awesome teacher!
-congratulations Mitch on making the basketball team. i bet you enjoy it!
You will be a fabulous teacher! No worries...but I think I would have died if they asked me! I am NOT a shy person unless it comes to teaching a lesson! You will be great!!!!
So, the good news is it's church. They have to love you no matter how you do! I'm sure you'll do great.
Amy, that was my VERY FAVORITE calling EVER! I would trade right now to have that calling back, especially since it was so short lived.
I'm trying with the saying nice things...Your Christmas card is so nice, and your family looks nice, and you look super nice, and it looks like everyone was being really nice to everyone else for the shot! Thank YOU for leaving nice comments on my blog! Did anyone leave a not nice comment on your blog? By the way You are such a nice friend! That's about all I have for nice sayings today:)! Have a great Christmas!
Hi! O.K. I looked for you on facebook, but Amy Jackson is not the rarest name on the planet, more than 300 that I think I looked at, and none were you, I think...not even that cute white girl with the big black man with an enormous afro! So, can you be my friend? Jeanette Holverson Frisch...:) There really aren't like 300 of me!
